ประชาชนร่วมเลือกซื้อ “ขนมเดือนสิบ” เตรียมรับตา-ยาย สืบสานประเพณีสารทเดือนสิบ

           วันที่ 7 กันยายน 2568 บรรยากาศที่ตลาดสดยะลาเป็นไปอย่างคึกคัก ประชาชนชาวไทยพุทธทยอยออกมาเลือกซื้อ “ขนมเดือนสิบ” อย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อเตรียมพร้อมสำหรับ “บุญแรก” ในประเพณีสารทเดือนสิบ หรือ “วันรับตา-ยาย” ซึ่งปีนี้ตรงกับวันจันทร์ที่ 8 กันยายน 2568

           สารทเดือนสิบถือเป็นหนึ่งในประเพณีสำคัญของชาวไทยพุทธในภาคใต้ ที่สืบทอดกันมายาวนาน เพื่ออุทิศส่วนกุศลให้กับบรรพบุรุษผู้ล่วงลับ โดยเฉพาะในวันแรม 1 ค่ำ เดือน 10 ซึ่งเรียกว่า “วันรับตายาย” ตามความเชื่อว่า วิญญาณของญาติที่ล่วงลับ โดยเฉพาะเปรต หรือผู้ที่ตกนรก จะได้รับอนุญาตให้มาพบกับญาติในโลกมนุษย์ได้ในวันนี้

           ผู้คนต่างพากันซื้อขนมที่ใช้ในพิธี เช่น ขนมพอง ขนมลา ขนมกง ขนมดีซำ (หรือขนมเจาะหู) ขนมบ้า รวมทั้ง ขนมต้ม ขนมเทียน เพื่อนำไปทำบุญที่วัดใกล้บ้าน ราคายังคงใกล้เคียงกับปีก่อน เช่น ขนมลา ครึ่งกิโลกรัม ราคา 70 บาท ขนมเทียน ถุงเล็ก 50 บาท ขนมต้มลูกละ 3 บาท และขนมเจาะหู ลูกละ 1 บาท ขนมอื่น ๆ อย่างขนมกง ขนมบ้า ก็มีการจัดขายเป็นถุง ราคาเริ่มต้นที่ 20–50 บาท เพื่อให้ประชาชนเลือกซื้อได้สะดวก

           โดยประเพณีนี้ไม่ได้มีแค่วันเดียว แต่จะแบ่งเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ “บุญแรก” หรือ “วันรับตา-ยาย” ซึ่งตรงกับวันแรม 1 ค่ำ เดือน 10 (ปีนี้ตรงกับ 8 กันยายน 2568) และ “บุญหลัง” หรือ “วันส่งตา-ยาย” ตรงกับวันแรม 15 ค่ำ เดือน 10 (ปีนี้ตรงกับ 22 กันยายน 2568) ซึ่งเป็นวันที่ประชาชนนิยมไปทำบุญมากที่สุด

           การร่วมกันสืบสานประเพณีสารทเดือนสิบ นอกจากจะแสดงถึงความกตัญญูต่อบรรพบุรุษแล้ว ยังเป็นการสร้างความอบอุ่นในครอบครัว และสร้างความสามัคคีในชุมชนอีกด้วย

           Rakyat rama beli “Kue Bulan Sepuluh” sempena Hari Sambut Tok dan Nek – Teruskan adat warisan Bulan Sepuluh

           Pada 7 September 2025, suasana di pasar segar Yala meriah sungguh. Ramai rakyat beragama Buddha di selatan keluar beli kue bulan sepuluh sebagai persediaan untuk “Hari Sambut Tok dan Nek”, atau dipanggil juga “Boon Pertama” dalam adat Sat Duean Sip (Sart Bulan Sepuluh). Tahun ini jatuh pada hari Isnin, 8 September 2025.

           Sat Duean Sip adalah satu adat penting bagi masyarakat Buddha di selatan Thai, diwarisi turun-temurun untuk sedekah pahala kepada roh nenek moyang yang telah meninggal dunia. Terutama pada hari Rem 1 Kam, Bulan 10 (Rem bermaksud selepas bulan penuh), di mana dipercayai bahawa roh – termasuk roh yang berada di neraka seperti Pret – akan dibenarkan datang ziarah sanak saudara di dunia manusia.

           Ramai orang datang beli pelbagai jenis kuih tradisional yang digunakan dalam upacara ini, seperti:

Kue Phong

Kue Laa

Kue Gong

Kue Ji Sam (Kue Jor Hoo)

Kue Baa

Dan juga Kue Tom, Kue Tian

           Harga tak banyak berubah dari tahun lalu:

Kue Laa setengah kilo = 70 baht

Kue Tian (pek kecil) = 50 baht

Kue Tom sebiji = 3 baht

Kue Jor Hoo (kue telinga) sebiji = 1 baht

Kue lain seperti Kue Gong, Kue Baa dijual dalam pek, harga mula dari 20–50 baht

           Adat Sart Duean Sip ini ada dua peringkat:

Boon Pertama – Hari Sambut Tok dan Nek (Rem 1 Kam, Bulan 10 = 8 Sept 2025)

Boon Selepas – Hari Hantar Tok dan Nek (Rem 15 Kam, Bulan 10 = 22 Sept 2025)

Hari kedua ini selalunya lebih ramai orang pergi wat untuk buat pahala.

           Amalan adat ini bukan saja tanda hormat dan ingat jasa nenek moyang, tapi juga kukuhkan kasih sayang keluarga dan perpaduan masyarakat.

           Locals Purchase “Sat Duean Sib” Traditional Sweets in Preparation for the Welcoming of Ancestors

           On 7 September 2025, the atmosphere at Yala Fresh Market was bustling with activity as Thai Buddhists steadily came out to purchase traditional “Sat Duean Sib” (Tenth Lunar Month Festival) sweets. These purchases were made in preparation for the first merit-making day, known as “Wan Rub Ta-Yai” or “The Day of Welcoming the Ancestors”, which this year falls on Monday, 8 September 2025.

           The Sat Duean Sib Festival is a significant cultural and religious tradition among Southern Thai Buddhists. It has been passed down through generations as a way to dedicate merit to deceased ancestors. According to belief, on the first waning moon day (1st waning of the 10th lunar month), spirits of the deceased—particularly those believed to be suffering in the afterlife, such as Preta (hungry ghosts)—are temporarily allowed to visit their living relatives.

           People have been purchasing a variety of traditional sweets used in religious offerings, including:

Kanom Pong (puffed rice snack)

Kanom La (lace-like crepe)

Kanom Kong (wheel-shaped snack)

Kanom Jee Sum or Kanom Chor Hoo (ear-pierced-shaped sweet)

Kanom Ba (fried dough balls)

As well as Kanom Tom (coconut rice balls) and Kanom Tian (sticky rice cakes)

Prices remain similar to last year:

Kanom La (500g): 70 baht

Small pack of Kanom Tian: 50 baht

Kanom Tom: 3 baht per piece

Kanom Chor Hoo: 1 baht per piece

Other sweets like Kanom Kong and Kanom Ba are sold in packages ranging from 20 to 50 baht, offering convenient options for all customers.

           The Sat Duean Sib Festival comprises two key phases:

“Boon Raek” (First Merit Day) or “Wan Rub Ta-Yai” (Welcoming the Ancestors) – observed on the 1st waning moon of the 10th lunar month (this year: 8 September 2025)

“Boon Lang” (Final Merit Day) or “Wan Song Ta-Yai” (Sending off the Ancestors) – observed on the 15th waning moon of the 10th lunar month (this year: 22 September 2025), which is typically the most widely attended merit-making day.

           Participating in and preserving the Sat Duean Sib tradition is not only a way to express gratitude and reverence for one’s ancestors, but also an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and promote unity within the community.
